Hey Squanchies,
Weeee’re back with another employee spotlight as part of our Meet Squanch Series, and this week we’re speaking with Natalie Eades!

Natalie is a squanchtastic doer of many things here at the studio. She finds super cool people to work here, helps us ALL stay organized and happy, and most importantly - keeps us all fed with yummy snacks... mmm, snacks...

Anyway, read on to learn more about NATALIE!

What do you do at Squanch?

A menagerie of things! I started out as a part-time assistant to the CEO at the time, Tanya. Over time it morphed into a full-time position as office manager of the east coast, EA to CEO, and then more into the recruitment side of things. Currently, I do a lot of syncing with the Leads and Directors, and combing through hundreds of resumes and cover letters to get talented people working for Squanch!

What got you into the industry?

I actually knew Tanya (our prior CEO) personally! She thought I would be a great fit and told me to apply. The rest is Squanch history.

What is the best part about your job?

Getting to talk to so many different people. I get to talk with everyone that works for Squanch, as well as everyone that wants to work for Squanch. It’s exciting, fast-paced, and hysterical. I have the humor of a 12-year-old boy and apparently so does everyone else that works here.

Is this what you thought you would be doing when you were in school?

I’m actually still in school! It’s a never-ending story. And no, working for a video game company was not something I envisioned happening for me, but it’s turned out to be really freakin’ fun!

If you could hang out with anyone, from anywhere, and any time, who would it be?

Janis Joplin. My cat is named after her. Pearl was Janis’ nickname and my cat is named Purrl (because cat). Janis was a badass and I want to hear her stories.

Quick! Someone just shoved a flash drive at you while demanding you keep it safe, before running away as fast as they could. What do you do?

Bring it to my 91-year-old Nanny that lives in Boone. She has things safe and hidden from 1933.

Do you remember the first time you played a video game?

I’m pretty sure it was Goldeneye on the N64. I was always Natalia… for obvious reasons.

As someone that wears multiple hats, how do you stay organized?

I am the organization queen. I have lists, reminders, reminders about the lists, lists full of reminders, and I’m also a master multitasker.

What advice do you have for people who are interested in working at Squanch?

This is such a cliche, but be yourself. We’re a bunch of weirdo nerds that are living our best, authentic weirdo nerd lives. We joke around, work hard, laugh a ton, and make penis jokes. Just do that and we will hire you. I will also accept bribes (don’t tell Rayna that, or the police, because that is illegal).

Anything else you’d like to share with us? Maybe a favorite joke?

What do you call a man with no arms and no legs in a pool? Bob

What do you call a man that can’t stand? Neil
